Page 2 has: "So secure do government suppose themselves in th3e entire conquest & reduction of Carolina, that they have written letters to most of the principal gentlemen in England...who possess the most considerable property there, requesting them to return to the enjoyment of their estates & promising them a safe & uninterrupted possession of every thing that belongs to them." Also: "...so certain was Sir Henry Clinton of being censured for evacuating Rhode Island that...he wrote that if he should be condemned for withdrawing the troops, to declare, that it was because we were not masters by sea & that if we should ever recover the dominion of the seas he could always retake it..." (see).
Page 3 has an item concerning the forfeited estates in New York of Sir Henry Clinton, Wm. Tryon and more (see).
Four pages, folio size, part red tax stamp on the front page, nice condition.
