DAILY RICHMOND EXAMINER, Virginia, March 11, 1864 

* General George Custer mention

A nice newspaper from the capital of the Confederacy. Among the front page reports on the Civil War are: "The War News--Engagement At Suffolk & Repulse of the Enemy" "The Grab Game" "Escape from the Penitentiary" and some other items, in addition to many advertisements and notices. The back page has a lengthy editorial which begins; "The last homage which the Yankees have paid to the shade of John Brown in the late Custar, Kilpatrick and Dahlgren raid may yet cost the invaders dear..." with more. Also on the bkpg.: "The Virginia Legislature" "Additional From Florida" and other items.
Complete as a single sheet newspaper with full banner masthead, minor loss at the spine margin which does not affect text, loss at the top margin does not affect text, never bound not trimmed.
