NEW YORK DAILY TRIBUNE, Aug. 20, 1849 Over a column of the front page has: "President Taylor's Tour - Reception at Chambersburg--Arrival at Bedford Springs". Nearly two columns on the back page are taken up with: "The Shakers" "Fast Day Among the Shakers--Their Mode of Worship--Their Origin, Manners, Customs, etc.--Their Crops & General Prospects" (see for beginning).
