August 27, 1779

THE EDINBURGH ADVERTISER, Scotland, Aug. 27, 1779  The front page includes a nice listing headed: "A View of the British and Rebel Force Operating in the Middle Colonies in the years 1776, 1777 and 1778 with an explanation: "To account for the rapid diminution of the rebel force..." (see), with the text carrying over to page 2.
Pages 4 & 5 have much detailed content on General Prevost's efforts near Charleston and Savannah in the South, taking over a full column (see). One bit notes: "It appears that altho' General Prevost met with no very considerable annoyance from the American army, it was with some distress & difficulty he got to Jame's Island where he took possession of a dismantled fort...ten miles above Charles-Town...He then summoned the town to capitulate which was haughtily rejected..." with much more.
Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 1/4 inches, nice condition.
