* Anti-capital punishment - hangings

A volume one issue of a quite rare anti-capital punishment  newspaper by J. N. Bang. This title existed for only one year, continuing thereafter as "The Prisoner's Friend".
The front page includes: "Treatment of the Criminal" & more. Page 2 includes: "Christian Watchman And The Gallows" "Prisonoer's Friend" & more. Page 3 has a black-bordered section listing those: "Under Sentence of Death!" noting the state, name, the crime, and date of execution (see).
Complete as a four page newspaper, 12 1/2 by 17 1/4 inches, bit of light damp staining at the edges, very minor margin wear, generally nice condition.
