Nice plate of Westminster Bridge...

Item # 590158
SUPPLEMENT TO THE GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE, London, England, 1746

* Print of Westminster Bridge
* Jacobite Rebellion

A very nice pre-Revolutionary War magazine from the "mother country". This was the first periodical to use the word "magazine" in its title, having begun in 1731 and lasting until 1907. This "Supplement" issue was done at the end of the year.

Included is "Abstract of the Irish Acts" takes 5 pages. Also: "Descriptoin of Westminster Bridge" which is accompanied by a very nice full page print of the bridge and surrounding buildings, identified at the bottom & including Westminster Abbey, House of Lords, House of Commons, and more (see). This print is close-trimmed at the right margin causing minor loss, otherwise is in very nice condition.

There is also: "A Letter on the Surrender of Carlisle to the Rebels" which takes most of a page. Two pages are taken up with a lengthy: "List of Ships taken on Both Sides", including several which were found to or from America.

Complete in 26 pages. They did not use a full title/index page with the Supplements as was done with the monthly issues.  Measures about 5 by 8 inches, very nice condition.
