The front page of this authentic Civil War era newspaper includes the following headlines: "FROM GEN. M'CLELLAN'S ARMY", "Incidents of Recent Night Attack by the Rebels", "Heavy Reconnaissance to Malvern Hills", and much more. Inside reports cover pay for soldiers, the "Employment of Negroes as Soldiers", "The Arming of Negroes", and two interesting speeches, one by Wendell Phillips providing his thoughts on the war, and another by General Hunter, focused on his view of slavery.
This 8 page newspaper is complete and is in nice condition due to the use of cotton and rag paper during this very historic time in U.S. history. The back page has a small archival mend which is inconsequential... and barely noticeable.
