THE EDINBURGH ADVERTISER, Scotland, March 11, 1766 

* re. The Stamp Act
* In a British paper


Inside has a report from London which notes: "...that should the Americans not take the repeal of the stamp act in a grateful manner, that he would move it should be enforced with something else than words. This morning the bill securing the right of parliament over the colonies was read in the H. of Lords & committed to a committee...who are to sit on it next Monday. The bill for repealing the stamp act is put off till Tuesday..." and further on: "The House of Commons late on Tuesday night read a third time & passed the bill for repealing the stamp-act in America, on a division of 250 against 122. And the bill has already received a first reading in the House of L." (see)
Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 inches, never-trimmed margins, full red tax stamp on the back page, minor stain to a margin of the back leaf, very nice condition.
