Thanksgiving Proclamation...

Item # 587707 ·
THE COURIER, Coldwater, Michigan, November 29, 1911 The frontpage of this issue includes a very nice front page day of Thanksgiving proclamation by Chase S. Osborn, the Governor of Michigan. An additional front page article "Thanksgiving in Coldwater - At the Churches, the State School and City Schools" begins with "Every one of the ninety-two million American citizens is called upon by the President of the United States (Taft) and the Governor of his state to lift up to Heaven the praises of his heart to the Giver of All on Thursday..." and also contains "In the High School, in place of the regular chapel exercises there was read the governor's and President's proclamation...". This article also includes details of the Thanksgiving program which was presented at the schools. There are additional articles within the issue pertaining to the area and many advertisements of the day.

This is complete in four pages with a slightly irregular left spine, a few tiny edge tears, otherwise is in good condition.
