PENNSYLVANIA INQUIRER, Philadelphia, Aug. 30, 1839

* African slave ship
* Amistad - slaves

Page 2 has an early report on the slave ship Amistad, headed: "The Capture of the Africans", bits noting: "...a few further particulars in relation to the capture of the suspicious schooner. She had on board a considerable number of slaves & three (or four) white persons--one of them the planter who owned the slaves...." with much more (see). A very nice account of the famous event Stephen Spielberg made into the movie "Amistad" in 1997.
