Item # 587565

May 18, 1791

COLUMBIAN CENTINEL, Boston, Massachusetts, May 18, 1791

* Declaration of Independence signers deaths
* Francis Hopkinson & Benjamin Harrison V

Listed under "Died" on pg. 3 is: "...In Virginia; Hon. Benjamin Harrison, Esq. formerly Govenour of that State..." and "...At Philadelphia, Hon. Francis Hopkinson, Esq. District Judge of the United States, for the State of Pennsylvania. The interests of science and patriotism will long deplore the loss of this valuable citizen..." (see photos). Both of these men were signers of the Declaration of Independence.
Page 2 has an interesting item on the derivation of the term "Yankee", as well as a letter headed "Mr. Paine, in his reply to Mr. Burke, tells the following Anecdote of Dr. Franklin" (see photos).
Four pages, some foxing, damp stain to a lower corner does not deter, generally good.
