NEW-YORK SEMI-WEEKLY TRIBUNE, New York, November 8, 1848  The front page of the issue contains the news "The Mormon Temple" that a company has purchased all the Mormon property, including the walls of the Temple and that arrangements are being made to rebuild as soon as possible. An arrest is to be made for the firing of the the Temple.  Page three carries a report "Russia - The Jews in Favor" to which the rights and liberties of the Jews in Poland have been extended. The back page carries the "Death of Brigadier General Stephen W. Kearny - General Stephen W. Kearny, the conqueror of New Mexico and California, is now no more... was born in Newark, N.J. about the year 1793, and was thus in his 55th year at the time of his death."
