YOLO WEEKLY MAIL, Woodland, California, Jan. 4, 1872
* Rare Old West title
An interesting and quite uncommon newspaper from this town just 15 miles northwest of Sacramento. It was formerly known as Yolo City, hence the title. Various news of the day, including many tidbits from the West as well as some literary items and a wealth of ads--many of which are illustrated. One of the more interesting tidbits is a small item at the top of page 2: "Brigham Young was yesterday ordered by Judge McKean of Utah to be held as a prisoner to answer to a charge of murder."
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, some minor margin tears, nice condition.
