THE DAILY CRESCENT, New Orleans, Aug. 7, 1851 Being a major slave market for the South prior to the Civil War, it is not surprising that a New Orleans newspaper would have slave ads. Page 2 contains 3 illustrated ads in a row (see). A bottom corner of the front page has a small illustrated ad: "James White...Will constantly Purchase Negroes, also Board & Sell on Commission any and all Slaves consigned to him." (see)
Four pages, irregular at the blank spine, good condition.
