Page 3 has: "California Items with several dispatches, including: "...Planed boards sell for one dollar per foot. Rents, likewise, are enormous...A party of gamblers pay $1500 per month for two little rooms...Letter paper sells for 50 cents a sheet...high prices at San Francisco continue. Land in the city is selling at enormous prices. Plats from five to six yards square sell for from $3000 to $6000...Nearly the whole of Capt. Sutter's 40,000 bushels of grain rotted in the field for want of hands to harvest it...There are but 50 women in the town of San Francisco...The arrival of a ship load of female emigrants would be a cause of public rejoicing..." with more (see).
