Once owned by Ben Franklin...
Item # 586871
February 25, 1768
THE PENNSYLVANIA GAZETTE, Philadelphia, Feb. 25, 1768 Certainly one of the most famous newspapers of the colonial period, having been made famous--and very successful--by Ben Franklin, whose name appeared in the imprint up to just 3 years prior to this date.
The entire front page is taken up with: "A Message to the Governor from the Assembly" complaining about how the different branches of government function. Page 2 has much news from Europe & pg. 3 has reports form Boston, Philadelphia and a letter from an Indian Chief living at the Great Island in the West Branch of the Susquehanna River (see photos).
Four pages, terrific condition, and a great opportunity for a famous colonial title at a reasonable price.
