* Non-Importation agreement support
The front page has an item headed "America" with a Boston dateline, noting in part: "....sense of our merchants, traders, etc. respecting the non-importation agreement, as meeting was called the day following at Faneuil Hall...it was voted almost unanimously that we would still strictly adhere to the non-importation agreement entered into the 29th of October last, not to import goods from Great Britain till the act laying duties on tea, paper, glass, colours, etc. is totally repealed..." with more (see).
Pg. 2 has a brief note: "...from Boston, in New England...Two ships have lately arrived at Portsmouth in New Hampshire full of goods, which have been opened & are now selling without molestation..." (see), and another page has a report from Philadelphia noting: "...meeting held at the State House...subscribers to the non-importation agreement having met by themselves & dully...weighed the matter...agreed, almost unanimously, to adopt & abide by the opinion of 21 gentlemen...That there should not, at this time, be any alteration made in the agreement...wold not permit a sloop full loaded...from Rhode Island to trade with us because the Rhode Island merchants had treacherously violated their obligation to the continent of America."
