HARPER'S WEEKLY, New York, Jan. 1, 1876

* Illustrator Thomas Nast
* Santa Claus - Christmas

Certainly the best print  in this issue is the very large doublepage centerfold by Thomas Nast (considered the creator of the modern version of Santa Claus) captioned: "The Watch On Christmas Eve" showing two children sitting in anticipation by a fireplace. In addition there is also another terrific Christmas print by Thomas Nast taking three-quarters of a page in the "Supplement" captioned: "Seeing Santa Claus" showing a young boy watching Santa Claus about to come down the chimney.
Although other portions of this issue have some edge tears, an irregular spine, foxing or damp staining, these two Nast Christmas prints are very nice and great for display (see photos). Offered at a reduced price due to the remainder of the issue.
