THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, Nov. 30, 1779 The front page includes an: "Extract of a Letter Which was Received Yesterday from Vice Admiral Arbuthnot, Commander in Chief of his Majesty's ships in North America" (see). Page 4 has: "Further Particulars of last Thursday's Debate in the House of Lords..." which has much relating to America (see). There is also news reports from the "New York Mercury" and the "Pennsylvania Packet".
Further on is: "Advices From America" with some nice content including: "...a requisition...made to Gen. De Lancey of Long Island militia to furnish 500 men...to march for Brooklyn..." and: "...By the latest intelligence from the rebel lines we are informed that Mr. Washington was moving back towards Morris-town. The Carolina brigade was ordered to Georgia & Major Lee's horse to Suffex County in New Jersey." with more. And the back page has: "We hear that Mr. George Washington, Chief of the American Colonies, has advanced with his herd of freeholders to a mountain; supposed to be the Dunker-barrack near the British seat at Stoney point..." with more (see). Plus more war-related talk as well.
Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 inches, great condition.
