HARPER'S NEW MONTHLY MAGAZINE, New York,  Sept., 1859  This 100+ page issue contains an article: "Something About Diamonds" which takes 12 pages and contains many illustrations on mining and cutting. Also included are: "Tropical Journeyings - Panama" (which includes content and an image related to General Morgan's capture of Panama along with several other related prints of Old Panama, A Forest Story - The Adirondack Woods and Waters", "The Dividing Line Between Federal And Local Authority" (by Stephen A. Douglas, taking several pages), "The Monthly Record of Current Events", and more. The magazine measures 6 1/2 by 10 inches, has minor edge tears and foxing, and is in overall nice condition.
