TAUNTON DAILY GAZETTE, Taunton, Massachusetts, August 17, 1920  The front page of this issue features "Petition Appointment of a Receiver For Charles Ponzi" with subhead "Judge Martin in the United States District Court Today Takes the Matter Under Advisement -- Ponzi Not Yet Able to Get Bail" which is referring Charles Ponzi who devised one of the largest swindling schemes. Inside the issue is another article "Ponzi Mansion Is Raided By Federal Officers". 

Also on the front page is "Players May Ask That Mays Be Banished" with subhead "Mays Has Been Storm Center For Years Because of His Close Pitching and 'Dusting' Tactics" which is relating to the pitch thrown by Carl Mays which struck Ray Chapman in the head, causing his death. A further report on the sports page reads "Ray Chapman Is Killed By A Pitched Ball" with subhead "Struck in Head With Fast Ball By Pitcher Mays -- Removed to Hospital, Where Operation on Skull Was Performed Without Benefit Hoped For".

Complete in 12 pages with an irregular left spine and some edge tears and chipping, otherwise in good condition. Should be handled with care.
