August 24, 1918

THE ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, Atlanta, Georgia, August 24, 1918

* Hundred Days Offensive
* World War I - WWI
* Nice headline for display

This 12 page newspaper has a nice banner headline on the front page: "DISASTER SPELLED FOR GERMANS BY DEFEATS ON 50-MILE BATTLE LINE" with subheads (see photos).

Other news, sports and advertisements of the day. Light browning, address label on the front page, some spine wear, otherwise good.

wikipedia notes: The Hundred Days Offensive was the final period of the First World War, during which the Allies launched a series of offensives against the Central Powers on the Western Front from 8 August-11 November 1918, beginning with the Battle of Amiens. The offensive forced the German armies to retreat beyond the Hindenburg Line and was followed by an armistice. The Hundred Days Offensive does not refer to a specific battle or unified strategy, but rather the rapid sequences of Allied victories starting with the Battle of Amiens.
