THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, August 26, 1780 Included is a full page list headed: "A Comparative View of the Present Strength and Stations of the English, French, and Spanish Fleets" which includes those ships "In America" (see).
The back page has content concerning the Revolutionary War (see photos below) with text including: "...ships the Triton & Guadaloupe are arrived at New York after being chaced by a fleet of French men of war, off the Capes of Virginia. They escaped by throwing their spars & booms overboard....Admiral Arbuthnot at New York...preparing to sail off Rhode Island...arrived at Rhode Island...are reported to have taken possession of it in the name of the French King..." with more (see photos).
Complete in 8 pages, 8 1/4 by 11 1/4 inches, a minor ink blotch to the front page otherwise in very nice, clean condition.
