June 22, 1772
THE PENNSYLVANIA PACKET & GENERAL ADVERTISER, Philadelphia, June 22, 1772 This title had one of the more displayable and beautiful mastheads of any from 18th century America, featuring a relative large engraving of a sailing ship between very frilly, ornate lettering (see images). The front leaf is in very nice condition however the rest of the issue is damaged. The back leaf has many cutouts, and the "Supplement" which is included has a cutout as well. But of course none of the damage is visible with the issue closed & displayable. The bkpg. does have a very nice illustrated "40 Shilling Reward" ad for a runaway French servant man, with details (see images).
Total of 6 pages, untrimmed margins, nice condition save for the noted cutouts.
