Nazis enact a curfew in Guernsey...

Item # 575636

March 19, 1941

EVENING PRESS, Island of Guernsey (in the English Channel), March 19, 1941

* Rare pro-Nazi occupation issue
* Curfew imposed - WWII

A very curious issue, as Guernsey, an English-speaking island, was occupied by the Germans during WWII so all the news was pro-Nazi. This is an early issue, which has on the front page a 3 column-wide "NOTICE" concerning a curfew for the island, and assignment of guard duty, etc. (see). Also on the ftpg: "A Victory For The Axis" "Five Merchant Ships out of Convoy Sunk" and more. This "Notice" is also printed in German.
Four pages, a circular stain near the bottom, some foxing, generally nice.
