THE NEW YORK HERALD, May 27, 1861 The front page is dominated by a very large & very detailed Civil War map headed: "THE SEAT OF WAR. The Strategical Points & Railroads in Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania." Among the first column Heads are: "THE INSURRECTION" "More United States Troops Sent Into Virginia" "Martial Law Proclaimed in Alexandria" "Anticipated "Attack on Norfolk Today" "The Plan for the Capture of Harper's Ferry" and much more (see images).
Eight pages, a few very discrete archival mends at margins, very nice condition.
