DAILY NATIONAL INTELLIGENCER, Washington, July 10, 1845 Page three of this issue contains "Runaway Negroes" "A large gang of runaway negroes, from Charles county, Maryland, armed with clubs, scythes, &c., passed through the turnpike gate, two miles from this city, on the road leading to Rockville, on Tuesday morning, about one o'clock... When the armed citizens overtook the negroes, they were commanded to surrender, but they refused, and immediately commenced resistance, when it appeared that some of them had pistols, and one of them a gun..."   another article on that page is "The Anniversary Celebration" which is the reporting of the Fourth of July events at various cities. A small report of the "Another Alleged Slaver" ship being seized is also reported at Rio Janeiro. The back page includes three "By the President of the United States" notices of land sales in Wisconsin, Ohio and Michigan and Florida. These are signed in type: JAMES K. POLK. Other news and advertisements of the day are within the issue.

This is complete in four pages measuring approximately 24 x 18.5 inches with scattered lite foxing, otherwise in good condition.
