HAMPSHIRE CHRONICLE, Southampton, England, Nov. 27, 1775 This title has one of the more beautiful mastheads to be found from the 18th century (see photos). The ftpg. has an item from the House of Commons concerning prohibiting trade with the colonies (see). The ftpg. also has a report of a treasonous event involving Dr. Church, Physician General to the Provincial army (see). Page 2 has more talk of the politics of the war: "...to bring in a Bill for repealing the Boston Port...for prohibiting all Trade & Intercourse with America during the present Rebellion" (see).
Page 2 also has a report from Penna. beginning: "Philadelphia is in a state of anarchy & confusion..." with more. This is followed by other reports from America (see photos). And page 3 also has some nice content concerning the Revolutionary War (see photos).
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, full red tax stamp on pg. 3, great condition.
