THE LONDON GAZETTE, England, Sept. 29, 1673 The world's oldest, continually published newspaper having begun in 1665 and is still printing today. The front page has a very early Judaica item, being a report datelined from "Madrid, Sept. 13" which includes: "...From Lisbon of the 29 past, that the discontents of the people, on occasion of the Prince's Decree in favor of the Jews, were much allayed by his Presence, since his return from the Caldas." (see).
