NEW ORLEANS DAILY CRESCENT, Louisiana, July 22, 1857 Page 3 is entirely filled with hundreds of advertisements, and among them are at least two for the sale of slaves, headed: "Foster's Slave Depot...he keeps constantly on hand and for sale mechanics, field hands, cooks, washers...Also buys and sells SLAVES on commission...large three story building to the use of Slaves, has made it the best depot in the city & well furnished for the comfort of Slaves." (see), and the other: "Virginia Negroes For Sale...just arrived a likely lot of NEGROES...which he will sell on reasonable terms...Will continue to receive lots of Negroes during the season." (see).
