NEW-YORK SPECTATOR, New York, October 2, 1813 The frontpage of this issue contains a header "Private Correspondence" with the dateline "Chilicothe, (Ohio) Sept. 17" which contains reports on Commodore Perry and Gen. Harrison. "Gen. Harrison had marched his whole force to the margin of the lake, ready to embark the moment of the return of the fleet. It was believed the British force would move off from Malden before our army could be landed before it. 'I feel satisfied that Perry has fought the battle of Malden on the lake. I apprehend Harrison will have nothing to do but to re-occupy our territory, and take quiet possession of that of the enemy, except so far as he may employ his force in settling with and paying off the arrearages due the force under brig. gen. Tecumseh, etc."  There are other articles of the day and advertisements, some of which are illustrated.

This is complete in four pages measuring approximately 21.5 x 14.25 which foxing and lite dampstaining and some edge tears. Stray handwriting above masthead.
