TOUS LES FRONTS, Aug. 1, 1944

* Rare allied issue dropped from aircraft
* Occupied France World war II - WWII

This is a fascinating & quite rare newspaper which, as noted in the upper left (translated) was "brought by allied air forces", and as noted in the upper right was from the: "Combined Supreme General Headquarters". Keep in mind that France was occupied by the Nazis at this time, D-day happening less than 2 months prior and liberation not coming to Paris until August 25. This was a leaflet newspaper which was dropped by aircraft over occupied France to encourage the residents that liberation was coming and to provide allied-based news of the war rather than Nazi propaganda which was their norm. The bkpg. includes a map of a portion of France showing the advancement of Allied forces.
Printed totally in French, single sheet, measures 9 by 13 inches and in great condition.
