THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, October 22, 1778 An inside have has a letter from Quebec, beginning: "We have just received intelligence that a large Provincial army is now in full march, and means, if possible, to attack & take this city by storm, which we hope is impracticable..." (see).
The back page has a letter from St. Augustine to a person in New York which talks of war events in the South, bits including: "...we were again threatened with a more formidable invasion than we had been heretofore...having no naval force to defend the province against the marine armament of the rebels, which consisted of five gallies...The rebel army advanced to St. Mary's to the number of 2000 men..." with more (see). Further on is a letter from Sand Hook with some naval news (see) and ending with: "...The rebels have 18 or 20,000 troops, it is said, now besieging Gen. Pigot on Rhode Island." (see).
Eight pages, 8 1/4 by 11 inches, very nice, clean condition.
