A very curious issue, as Guernsey, an English-speaking island, was occupied by the Germans during WWII so all the news was pro-Nazi.
Of greater fascination is that this issue has a report noting the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, making this a very rarely-found Nazi report on this event which brought the United States into World War II.
The front page has a two column headline at the top: "Crippling Blows on British and American Navies" and "Battleships & Big Cruisers Sunk in Far East Waters" with the text reading in part: "The Japanese Imperial Headquarter announces that at Hawaii, two American battleships have been sunk and four further battleships and four big cruisers heavily damaged. Near Honolulu, an enemy aircraft carrier was sunk. At Guam a U.S. A. mine-sweeper "The Penquin" and four merchant ships were sunk..." with more concerning the attack on Pearl Harbor with mention of some ships lost (see photos).
Further on at the bottom of the page is a more discreet report with one column heads: "Japanese Troops Land In Philippines" "Nearly 100 U.S. Planes Shot Down" which reports on the attack of Clark Air Base in the Philippines. It includes text reading: "The reported sinking of and damage to American warships during the combat around Hawaii was caused by Japanese air raids."
Light browning, otherwise in nice condition. 4 pages.
