THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, July 13, 1773 An inside page has over half a column headed "America" with news reports from New York and Newport, Rhode Island, the former noting: "...from Surinam...who informs us that the disturbances with the Negroes at that settlement were settled by a smart engagement in which many of them were killed..." and also: "...letters from Annapolis we are informed that legislation is now restored in Maryland, a cessation thereof had taken place from Lord Baltimore's death..." (see).
There is also a report that: "...the measures proposed by the Patriotic House of Burgesses of Virginia...a committee to superintend the measures of the British Parliament as they may relate to the Colonies, to maintain a correspondence with the other colonies..." with a bit more (see). This was the creation of the Committee of Correspondence in Rhode Island, on the Virginia model.
Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 inches, very nice condition.
