Inside has a letter from Boston which notes: "...certain General who had been disgusted at the treatment he had met with at the Court of London, has joined the people at Boston. He had set out for the congress at Philadelphia...with an intention to get himself put at the head of the Bostonians...if the congress proceeded to any extraordinary step, General Gage would send part of the troops to Philadelphia & take the deputies prisoners." (see)
The back page has an item from the first Continental Congress in Philadelphia noting: ":...resolutions entered into by the delegates from...Massachusetts Bay...Resolved unanimously, 'that this Assembly deeply feels the suffering of their countrymen...under the operation of the latest unjust cruel & oppressive acts of the British Parliament..." and a bit more, signed: C. Thomson, Sec.,"Extracted from the Minutes of the General Congress now sitting." (see)
Eight pages, red ink tax stamp on page four, 8 1/2 by 11 inches, very nice condition.
