August 19, 1773

THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, August 19, 1773  All of the ftpg. and a bit of pg. 2 are taken up with the: "...Letters of Mr. Oliver of Boston to a Friend in London, long before he was Lieutenant Governor of Boston" with the letters dated 1767 and 1768. they relate to the troubles with collecting import duties, etc.
The back page has a report beginning: "There is not a man in England who doubts whether the Jews are the general cause & instruments of diminishing and debasing the gold coin of this realm; they are at this instant generally complained of through the kingdom as such..." with much more, reflecting the anti-Jewish sentiment so common in Europe at the time (see).
Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 inches, nice condition.
