March 26, 1870

LESLIE'S ILLUSTRATED, from New York, dated March 26, 1870 Large frontpage illustration "New York--Treatment Of Emigrants At Ward's Island--Women At Dinner." A nice fullpage inside: "Laborers Of A Hand-Car Of The Pacific Railroad, Attacked By Indians." Another fullpage has a nice view: "Bitter Creek Valley--Construction Camp Of The Pacific Railroad In The Foreground" and "Citadel Rock, Green River; Pacific RR Bridge In The Foreground." Almost a halfpage: "Georgia--The 'Crackers,' With Stock and Teams, Emigrating to Florida." Also a small illustration: "New York--The New Floating Chapel For Mariners, Foot Of Pike & South Streets." This is complete in 16 pages, does contain several small binding holes along the left spine, otherwise is in good condition.
