The front page of this issue contains the reporting of Winston Churchill's speech to the House of Commons of the same date. The three column wide, two line header of the article is "Churchill Says Britain Can Fight years Alone" with the subhead "Admits Allies Had Suffered Colossal Disaster - To Rebuild BEF". This article continues on page 15, and although it does not contain the entire speech, it does include quotable portions.
