THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, October 24, 1775 An inside page has an item beginning: "Ruin and desolation sufficient will the war between England and America occasion, if confined to them as the sold combatants; but what havoc will there be if the Indians are to be drawn into the same!...An Indian War...is of all others the most savage..." and more (see). Another page includes: "...gives an account that Halifax in Nova Scotia is taken by the Provincials...They took it by sea. Fifteen hundred Provincial troops embarked on board a number of schooners..." with more (see). Also: "...General Putnam is detached with 3000 provincial troops from the camp before Boston to take the city of Quebec..." with more. Also that: "...the Provincials have invented there a fort of vessels to sink at the mouth of the harbour to prevent any ships of burthen being navigated into their ports..." and more (see).
