This issue has a great wealth of content concerning the Revolutionary War. Page 2 includes a brief yet historic note: "The earl of Cornwallis will be appointed commander in chief in America, in the room of Sir Henry Clinton, returning home." The same page has an: "Extract of a letter from Baltimore" which carries over to the following page, which also contains an "Extract of a letter from Savannah, in Georgia" followed by: "America - From the New-London Gazette' which contains nearly a full page of news.

There are also reports from the "New York Gazette" (see) & other sources. One item notes: "...say that Paul Jones is still in the Texel on board the Serapis; his own ship (the Goodman Richard) sunk in about 24 hours after the engagement." This references the famous John Paul Jones naval battle in which he captured the British ship Serapis. Even more war reports as well!

Rare to find period mention of John Paul Jones in newspapers. Complete in 8 pages, 8 1/2 by 11 1/2 inches, nice condition.
