September 10, 1887
HARPER'S WEEKLY, New York, September 10, 1887 The full front page is a Zogbaum print: "Mars & Venus at Fortress Monroe". A full page has many scenes of Castine captioned: "An Old Maine; Seaport". Another full page has 6 prints of: "The Annual Meet of the American Canoe Association".
But by far the best print in this issue is the terrific doublepage centerfold captioned: "Thrown Out On Second" which is a great view of a baseball play in progress, a much closer view of game action than is typically found. This print measures about 14 by 20 inches from border to border, plus borders. This print is tipped-in (desirable), meaning no binding holes at the central fold.
This issue also has the "Supplement" as well, which includes a doublepage centerfold (also tipped in) of: "Little Rock, Arkansas" which includes 11 vignettes from the city.
Complete in 20 pages and in excellent condition.
