Printed within the dateline at the top is: "Confederate States Of America" which is rarely found in such newspapers.
Among the front page items are: "From Savannah" "From Richmond--Northern News, Etc." "Reported Revolution in Kentucky Credited..." "From Mobile--Another Attack on Vicksburg Anticipated--The Abolitionists Engaged on the Canal Opposite the City..." "The Bible for our Soldiers" "Yankee Account of the Capture of Arkansas Post" and a bit more.
Page 2 has some war & other news and also has many ads, one of which is: "Deserted--Thirty Dollars Reward..." for a soldier who deserted his post (see). Page 3 is entirely taken up with ads, including a "Three Hundred Negros Wanted" ad, and a "Twenty-Five Dollars Reward" ad (see).
Much of the back page is taken up with: "From The North--The People Against the Administration & the War", but also has: "The Attack on Vicksburg" "Late From Missouri" and reports from the "Legislature of South Carolina".
Complete in 4 pages, never bound nor trimmed and still having wide margins. Some light foxing throughout with mild wear at the front page folds only. Generally very nice condition.
