Full front page illustration captioned: "The Funeral Of General U. S. Grant--The Catafalque At Mount McGregor--Col. Fred Grant Placing A Favorite Ring On The Finger Of His Dead Father." The illustration is black-bordered and there is a second black border around the illustration as well as the title. Has "The Nation Mourns" in white letters with a black background across the title (see photos).

     The second page has an editorial: "The Hero's Monument." Inside also has a half page illustration: "The Funeral-Car Upon Which The Body Of General U.S. Grant Will Be Conveyed to Its Burial-Place At Riverside Park, New York." Tipped-in double page centerfold has six scenes: "The Funeral And Burial-Place Of General U.S. Grant", with references about each scene (see). There is another full page with seven scenes: "The Death Of General U.S. Grant--New York City In Mourning--Some Of The Striking Memorial Tributes."

     Issue is complete in 16 pages, has a bit of wear at the spine, otherwise in very good condition, and nice for display.
