* Rare title
* Early baseball
This is a volume 2 issue of a very rare and historically important baseball newspaper, the very first daily sports newspaper dedicated entirely to the national game of professional baseball. This title could well be the most important contemporary record of 19th century professional baseball.
The terrific baseball-themed masthead reads: "Official Record" while the title at the top of pages 2, 3 & 4 reads: "Official Baseball Record". The ftpg. of this issue has a nice portrait and a brief biographical sketch of "Joe Quest".
The issue is filled with baseball news & baseball-related content. Upper spine is a bit irregular. Browned and pulpish at the edges.
