wikipedia notes: Philippe Charles d'Orléans, Duke of Orléans, (2 August 1674 – 2 December 1723), was a member of the royal family of France. At the death of his uncle, king Louis XIV, he was the regent during the minority of the five-year old new king Louis XV, from 1715 to 1723, an era known as the Regency.
