June 04, 1715
THE POST-BOY, London, England, June 4, 1715 reverse of this single sheet has a brief item (see) noting the Massachusetts colony which reads, in full: "Woodward, esq. is made Secretary of Massachusett's Bay in New-England, in the room of William Borret, Esq." Quite early for a mention of America and one of her colonies.
Has some commentary, plus news from the Hague and London, plus several ads on the reverse.
Masthead has two engravings, including one of a newsboy on horseback "trumpeting" the news. Has a bit of rubbing on the front page, some foxing, otherwise in very good condition.
