NEW-YORK TRIBUNE, July 1, 1859 A pg. 5 report headed "Mr. Blondin's Tight-Rope Feat" is datelined "Niagara Falls, June 30, 1859", and begins: "This afternoon Mr. Emile Blondin successfully accomplished the terrific undertaking of crossing the Niagara River on a tight Rope at a height of 150 feet above the rushing torrent below...".
