NILES' NATIONAL REGISTER, Philadelphia, June 27, 1849

* Last issue we've seen
* Popular title at it's end

This is the last issue of volume 75 of this famous title & the publisher's note on the front page states: "The next number of the Register will be delayed until after the middle of July..." but in fact it was suspended through August. The very last issue published was Sept. 28, 1849, but we've never seen any issues after this date offered here.

Among the items within are: "Message of the President of the French Republic" which takes several pages; "Maine--Slavery in the District" "Tobacco Trade" & more. A back page item: "Gold Discovery" reports on a find 80 miles north of Taos in New Mexico.

Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 12 inches, nice condition.
