THE STARS AND STRIPES, London edition, England, May 4, 1945  Self-described as "The Newspaper of U.S. Armed Forces in the European Theater of Operations".

Views of Nazi atrocities with Holocaust reporting (see images).  Headings include:  "Germany Crumbling Into Chaos", "The Berliners Crawl Out", "British Take Hamburg...", "Munich Rejoices Hearing News of Hitler's Death", and a graphic image "Lest We Forget", with a graphic and horrific view of a scene at the infamous Dachau concentration camp.  Also included on page one is Dr. Robert  M. W. Kempner's report "Hitler Can't Be Missed", describing how easy it would be to identify Hitler's body.  Dr. Kempner (now an American Citizen), at the time of the report, was residing in Lansdowne, PA.  He was the former chief legal advisor of the pre-Hitler German police, and identified various physical peculiarities of the Fuhrer after his arrest in the famous Beer Hall Putsch.  A list of the peculiarities are included.

The issue is complete in 4 pages, has various edge tears, is evenly browned, and is very fragile.  There are pencil markings above the masthead with the words "War Dept".
